    S. S. Rajamouli is upset!
Gone are the days when movies run to houseful audiences for 50 days and beyond. With a movie releasing practically every other weekend, it is exceedingly difficult to set such records anymore. Nevertheless, upon the insistence of fans and probably even filmi people, theatres are paid to run a movie even after it has outrun the interest of the audience. And hence 50 days and 100 days records are met and celebrated. No one dared call the bluff and the tradition goes on. But now a voice of reason has risen. Director S. S. Rajamouli has tweeted his distaste in these records that are practically fabricated. The tweets posted by the Baahubali director a while ago, is as follows: "Record number of 50 days, 100 days,175 days are things of past. Today, Films are being released in 1000′s of screens and run is over by 3-4 weeks. Few main screens might still give shares, but mostly the run is over. It is very sad when some fans ask for an extension, sometimes paying out of their pockets and sometimes asking the exhibitors to do so. Friends..! what do we gain out of these false records??" "Audience have given us a memorable victory, that we will remember for the rest of our lives. What more do we need? Our industry is plagued by this issue for a long time. Let’s not be a part of it. It is high time we stopped this. Bahubali will run in theatres that are yielding shares. If not, it will make way for other new films to follow. We will NOT block theatres for false records" These words of wisdom come from a director who has just had a resounding, thus far unseen, thunderous hit. Hence, he and his movie do not need gimmicks to keep the show going. Will his brethren in the biz see the meaning in his words or will they go up in arms against him? Let's wait and find out.

However, Arun Pandian is impressed with the lead pair of his upcoming release Savaale Samaali, Ashok Selvan and Bhindhu Madhavi, who have given up to rupees 5 lakhs to the producer, towards its release. The producer who was moved by their generous act, was all praise for the promising talents. M. Raja acknowledges Thani Oruvan's support system
As the release date of Thani Oruvan gets closer and closer, the brothers M. Raja and Jayam Ravi are getting busy with the film’s promotions. The director of the action flick Thani Oruvan, M. Raja has named a few members of the team as the pillars of the film. The first being Raja’s brother Jayam Ravi, who is the hero of the film. Raja said that he wanted the lead role to be played by an actor who has never played a cop character before. This made him zero in on his brother Ravi who is also a bankable actor for whom the character suited well. The director added that he was happy for his brother, that ever since the success of the comedy entertainer Romeo Juliet, good fortune has been shining on Ravi. He says that Ravi's upcoming projects also look promising, including his own movie Thani Oruvan. While talking about the unique role of Arvind Swami in the film, the director said, “I wanted him for the role because evil is more horrifying when it is more attractive and glamorous. That is how it seduces people and makes them fall under its spell.” Being an out of the routine villain role, Arvind immediately signed on the dotted lines. He is the second pillar of the film. Despite being an action cop story, the film also has romance. Gorgeous Nayantara who plays the female lead is the third pillar of the film. She seems to have impressed the director alot. “I was surprised by her level of maturity in understanding the scenes," says the director. The director was moved by the efforts she put in on the sets of the film almost like an assistant director. There are more pillars holding up Thani Oruvan.
